Notes
1. Naming patterns suggest, with low confidence,
that a common
ancestor of this Halpern family of Bolechow and this Halpern family of Skole
is a person having the name Ber who died in the early 1860s.
Of
note, both Mozes Halpern, son of Nechemie and Taube, and
Michel
Wolf Halpern, son of Abraham Israel and Chaje, of approximately the
same generation each had an apparent first born son in 1865 named Berl
Joel (which doesn't appear to be a common double name). Hinde and
Chana, both daughters of Leib, son of Nechemie and Taube, also had sons
named Nechemie Ber, presumably named after their grandfather and his
father.
2. Possibly a sister of Ber, discussed above.
