GUTMANN
Salomon Raphael
(1756), born in Dörnbach, son of Raphael Manasses
and Goele Salomon, married Marguerite
Jacob, lived in Dielkirchen, and had children: Raphael (1789),
Schele (1791), Fratge (1801), and Esther (1804). In 1808, the family
adopted the surname
GUTMANN. Salomon died in Dielkirchen in 1814.
- Raphael GUTMANN married Jetta "Henrietta" HIRSCHLER from
Hessheim, daughter of
Leopold and Marianna nee KAHN, in Dielkirchen in 1813 and had a son,
Hirsch (1816).
- Hirsch
GUTMANN married Gertraude WOLF in Essweiler in 1844 and
had children: Solomon (1844), Leopold (1847), Amalia (1849), Gustave
(1851), Mortiz and Jacob (twins, 1856), and August (1859). Gertrude
died in Hinzweiler in 1872 followed by Hirsch in Dielkirchen in 1896.
- Schele "Jeannette" GUTMANN married Simon STRAUSS from Waldgrehweiler, son of
Abraham and
Esther Moses, in Dielkirchen in 1812 and had children in Finkenbach: Salomon (1814) and Esther (1815).
- Fratge "Amalia" GUTMANN married Isaak BEITMANN, son of
Isaak and Biene Levi, in Dielkirchen in 1815 and had children: Solomon
(1822), Raphael (1833), David (1835), and Emanuel (1838).
- Solomon BEITMAN lived in Washington, Indiana, and died in 1903.
- David BEITMAN married Pauline NETHEIM from Ottenberg, Bavaria,
in Wabash, Indiana, in 1868, and had children: Isadore (1868), Harry
(1869), Edward (1871), Freda (1873), and Leo (1880). David died in
Wabash in 1892 followed by Pauline in 1919.
- Emanuel BEITMAN married Amelia "Millie" STERNBERGER from
Börrstadt, daughter of Solomon and Henrietta nee GIMBLE, in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1869, and had
children: Lilly (1869), Jennie (1871), and Birdie (1873). He died in
1898. Millie died in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, in 1930.
- Esther GUTMANN married Aron DALSHEIMER, son of Abraham and Lena
Aron, in Niederkirchen in 1827.
Research Notes
Salomon Raphael of Dielkirchen was included in the list of robbery
victims of the notorious criminal Schinderhannes in 1802 at the
latter's trial.
